Among those listed as the National Black Justice Collective’s “2025 Cohort of 100 Black LGBTQ+/SGL Emerging Leaders to Watch,” Erick Taylor Woodby is a Los Angeles-based American writer and podcast producer committed to building bridges across borders. He is the creator, host, and producer of the top-ranked biweekly Our Black Gay Diaspora Podcast, interviewing Black LGBTQ+ professionals who share their experiences in their countries and professions. Across more than 125 episodes, 27 countries and 45 professions have been represented.

Represented by David Luxton Associates Literary Agency, Woodby has written for Orion Publishing Group and publications such as Queerty, Inc.’s NATIVE SON, the Swedish English-language Krull Magazine, and Substack. He composes diverse stories and histories that chronicle the lives of individuals making a difference across Africa, Europe, North America, and other continents.

Woodby’s interest in creative communication extends to learning languages. He’s proficient in conversational Spanish and basic Swedish. Since 2008, Woodby has visited Botswana, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, England, Germany, Mexico, Latvia, Norway, South Africa, Spain, and Sweden. Stockholm, Sweden, Brighton, England, and Bogotá, Colombia, are a few of his favourite locales.

A longtime career as a graphic designer encompassed Woodby creating well-defined designs from logo, brochure, and print design to multimedia. His clients include a BAFTA-winning documentary protagonist, an award-winning yoga instructor, and an international investment banking firm.
