Erick Taylor Woodby is a Los Angeles–based writer, podcast producer, and founder of Our Black Gay Diaspora™, a podcast that sits at the intersection of culture, identity, and global storytelling. He has been quoted in Forbes, where Our Black Gay Diaspora™ was also recognized, further highlighting his work amplifying Black LGBTQ+ voices and stories. Woodby was named to the National Black Justice Collective's 2025 Cohort of 100 Black LGBTQ+/SGL Emerging Leaders to Watch.

As the creator, host, and producer of Our Black Gay Diaspora™, Woodby has produced more than 135 episodes featuring Black LGBTQIA+ changemakers representing 28 countries and 45 professions. From 2020 to 2022, he served as producer and co-host of the Wallflowers in Bloom podcast.

Woodby has written for Orion Publishing Group and publications including Queerty, Inc.'s NATIVE SON, Krull Magazine, and Substack. His work explores the stories, histories, and lived experiences of Black LGBTQ+ people and other changemakers across Africa, Europe, North America, and the global diaspora.

A lifelong communicator, Woodby is conversational in Spanish and has basic proficiency in Swedish. Since 2008, he has traveled extensively, including to Botswana, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, England, Germany, Latvia, Mexico, Norway, South Africa, Spain, and Sweden. These global experiences continue to inform his storytelling and deepen his perspective on culture, identity, and belonging.

In addition to his editorial and podcast work, Woodby has a background in graphic design, creating brand identities, print materials, and multimedia projects for clients ranging from a BAFTA-winning documentary protagonist to an international investment firm.
